A student-led reform initiative
Every student deserves a second bell.
We help Connecticut high schools welcome students back after medical or behavioral-health treatment through research, practical guidance, and policy reform.

Our mission
Coming back shouldn't mean falling behind.
Second Bell started because returning to school after a hospitalization or intensive treatment is often handled ad hoc — different in every building, and sometimes not at all.
We believe every Connecticut student deserves a clear, compassionate, consistent path back to the classroom.

Second Bell researches current practice, builds tools schools can use tomorrow, and advocates for district and state guidance.
